Americans of Islamic faith

Colin Powell, in an interview, mentioned this inspiring image he saw in the Time magazine about a women at her 20 yr. old son's grave.  He spoke about how any American should or could have the dream of one day being President, regardless of ethnicity, gender etc. This is what makes America a great place. This is really an advanced and open-minded level of thinking. It is this dream that allows America to be a place of innovation, hope and strength.

This comment was brought up because of a woman who said she could not trust Obama because she read he was Arab. Does the fact that he is of Islamic faith (which is false) matter though? I had to do as Jesus did on the cross as he was crucified. He understood the innocence of human consciousness and had the compassion in him to ask God to forgive them as they did not know better. So I ask God to forgive her just the same, and all other Americans, for their ignorance and pray that they can see things a better way.

I end with an excerpt from the Declaration of Independence.

"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness."
